CBI V V Lakshminarayana to continue in YS Jagan Case

A public interest litigation petition was filed in the Andhra Pradesh high court on Wednesday seeking transfer of the alleged illegal assets case against YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to the high court.
In his petition, Telangana advocates JAC leader T Sri Ranga Rao wanted that the entire investigation into the Jagan’s case should be done under the supervision of the high court. All the charge sheets submitted by the CBI in the special court should be handed over to the high court.
“The investigation is going on in a partial manner. Some of the key accused were let off, while others were arrested. Therefore, the high court should supervise the Jagan case, just as the Supreme Court had done in the case of 2G spectrum case,” he said.
In this connection, Sri Ranga Rao came up with an interesting suggestion. He wanted the high court to direct the government that present CBI joint director V V Lakshminarayana be continued in the post till the completion of trial in Jagan’s case.
According to reports, Lakshminarayana will complete his deputation in the CBI by June end and he will be sent back to his parent department in Maharashtra. The advocate said only Lakshminarayana would be able to see that the case reached its logical conclusion.
