JD(S) ticket sold for Rs 5 crore, say partymen

Janata Dal (Secular) ticket aspirants from the Tumkur City constituency have alleged that the party ticket was ‘sold’ to a Congress leader for several crores.
A group of JD(S) leaders alleged that party MLAs R Sreenivas and Suresh Babu had taken Rs two crore each to get the ticket for Congress leader Govindaraju, who filed his nominations as JD(S) candidate on Monday.

The allegations of ‘ticket sale’ was made at a press conference by T G Narasimharaju, who had tried hard to get the JD(S) ticket from the Tumkur City constituency. JD(S) senior vice president K B Bore Gowda, Zilla Panchayat member T H Krishnas, party leaders Naresh Gowda and Belli Lokesh, all of whom failed to get the ticket, were present at the press conference.

The two MLAs, Sreenivas and Suresh Babu, have misled the JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda and party state president H D Kumarswamy and ensured that Govindaraju was given the ticket. The two MLAs got a kickback of Rs two crore each, they alleged.
